from "wise" Verna

"Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me" Psalms 66:16.

The truth of testimony is powerful, and encouraging.
What is your testimony? What is God doing in your life and have you  shared it with anyone lately? Sharing out of our humility brings focus to the ONE who makes the difference in our lives. It's not about us, it's about HIM, His grace, His transforming power in our life.

I have been overwhelmed with God's grace, not in a theological position but rather in life change. When I see my position in Christ as fully transformation and that I am not striving to achieve something but rather accept what has already been done. It allows me to see believers as saints rather than sinners, and changes the way I see their shortcomings as I change the way I see
my own. I can come along side others not because I have arrived, but as a sojourner in process as well. My other challenge of late is learning to rest in the Lord, truly rest. . . .stop trying to control, stop believing it is up to me, but seeing how I can grow through the tough stuff and praise God through it.

The song "Blessed be your name" by Matt Redman & Beth Redman, captured my attention one Sunday when I was feeling a little swamped by the heaviness of some personal challenges.

"Blessed be your name, on the road marked with suffering,
though there's pain in the offering,
blessed be you name.
Every blessing You pour out I'll turn back to praise,
and when the darkness closes in Lord, still I will say:
Blessed be the name of the Lord,
blessed be Your name.
Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your glorious name."

Another tender reminder that it is not about my comfort, security, health, or personal interest it is ALL about giving everything, EVERYTHING, back to him in the form of praise! That doesn't mean I won't feel pain, frustration, sadness or grief, but it does mean He is still worthy of my praise for who He is in the midst of the storm.
